ZMLEY is seeking a permanent, full-time Software Engineer (Team Lead) to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the technical design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of web applications, mobile applications, and integrated software systems.
Engage with clients to understand business needs, analyze technical requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and recommend appropriate technology solutions.
Research, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies, development frameworks, and industry best practices.
Lead the design of software architecture, data models, process flows, and system integration solutions.
Coordinate technical planning, development, integration, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of software applications and IT systems.
Assign development tasks, review code, establish development standards, and ensure adherence to software engineering best practices.
Assess, troubleshoot, test, document, and optimize application software and integrated software solutions.
Monitor software performance and implement system enhancements.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to software engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the development team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure projects meet technical requirements and business objectives.

Qualifications:

Minimum a college diploma in computer science. A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or mathematics or any other related field is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a senior or technical leadership role, or a similar position.
Experience independently leading and coordinating software development projects.
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Proficiency with React, Node.js (Express), and PostgreSQL.
Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application development.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong technical leadership, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
